2017 smart fortwo cabrio release date
The 2017 smart fortwo cabrio has officially been released in the United States. We do not carry smart cars at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead, but we have been fans of the smart brand ever since Mercedes-Benz introduced it some 20 years ago.
Who says small means slow? Okay, we wouldn’t call it fast, but the 2017 smart fortwo cabrio is powered by a three-cylinder, 89-horsepower engine. With this engine, drivers can choose between a 5-speed manual or twinamic dual clutch automatic transmissions, giving the fortwo some sporty vibes.
The 89 horses under the hood of the smart fortwo may not seem like much until you see exactly how big the smart fortwo is.
The cabrio roof on the smart fortwo cabrio is one of the biggest highlights of the 2017 release. It gives the fortwo unlimited headroom and new lease on life. It comes with a fabric soft top like the one you might find on the S-Class or the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster. In fact, the smart fortwo cabrio undergoes the same endurance testing as the high-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This means being subjected to more than 20,000 opening and closing cycles in extreme tempuratures!
The cabrio soft-top can be opened or closed in just 12 seconds. This means you can open and close it on the go with ease. For more fun, you can remove the side roof bars for a complete convertible feeling.
In addition to being agile and comfortable, the smart fortwo cabrio is also 15 percent stronger than its predecessor and successfully passed all of the tests done by Mercedes-Benz, which are more strict than the required tests. The smart fortwo also comes with ESP® with Crosswind Assist, Hill Start®, and forward collision warning®.
