2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van Interior Redesign

The Sprinter Van is one of the most popular commercial vehicles in the world even though it hasn’t been redesigned since 2006 when it entered its seconds generation. Spanning two generations over 20 years, it is obvious that the Sprinter is due for an upgraded look and feel. Usually it is the new look that grabs the attention of drivers, but this is mostly true only in a passenger car setting. With the commercial van, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van interior redesign is stealing the show.

Spy shots online will show you that the outside will likely remain unchanged. The exterior body style of a commercial van is difficult to change because style and functionality do not normally go together. Still, we expect a new grille and a new set of headlights on the front and possibly some indentation changes along the sides.

Because the current Sprinter was designed ten years ago, it is not necessarily the most convenient way to incorporate all the new Mercedes-Benz technologies that have surfaced since 2006. Since these technologies changed more than the general exterior theme of Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks, the interior is getting the most attention. The redesign is likely to feature DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode capabilities from a COMAND navigation pad. This is something that is not currently available in a Sprinter, but could come in handy with varying cargo loads.

Another inevitable update is a new LCD infotainment screen. Most Mercedes-Benz vehicles are receiving updates like this and what better application than a commercial van? Long trips on the road, need for information, and vehicle status are all very important in the commercial automotive business, meaning the 2018 Sprinter might even come with never-before-seen technology when it comes out next year.
