Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric SUV Release Date

Here in the United States, there are tax benefits in some places for citizens who drive low- or zero-emission vehicles. Similarly, there are benefits car manufacturers can take advantage of for selling hybrid and electric cars. This is true in other parts of the world also, but recently, Germany just upped the ante for car manufacturers who can produce electric cars. Shortly after this announcement, Mercedes-Benz made a statement promising 4 new electric cars by 2020. Now, we aren’t scientists, but we can’t imagine a world where the GLC doesn’t make the cut for this. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric SUV is more than a possibility, it is an opportunity for a release date like no other.

Current GLC Options

Right now, there are only two models of the GLC available. Compared to the 7 available GLE trims, this could be a clue. Granted, the GLC43 is on its way and we have to expect a GLC63 but that still leaves three open spots for what will probably be the most popular Mercedes-Benz SUV this year? We don’t think so! Expect a GLC350e by 2020! Having said that, there will probably be a GLC550 introduction as well before that!

United States Debut

There is one problem and that is our geographic location. Whenever Europe gets something great, it usually takes a few years for it to be cleared for sale in the United States. Because of this, we probably won’t see an electric GLC SUV release date until 2022. If you have any questions about the GLC350e or its potential release, leave a comment below! If you think we are way out in left field, we want to hear about that too! Which cars do you think Mercedes-Benz will turn into electrified luxury?
