What is a cargo van bulkhead?
There are many reasons to separate yourself from your cargo. Maybe you have a lick-happy dog. Perhaps you don’t want things rolling up to the front, getting lodged under the gas pedal. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter doesn’t come standard with any kind of partition between the front seats and the cargo bay, but there is a solution. It’s called a bulkhead and it is available as an option in every Sprinter cargo van. What is a cargo van bulkhead?
A bulkhead is a partition that separates the front seats from the cargo bay in a commercial van.
When you buy a new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, make sure you ask for the bulkhead partition! It is available as an option with every Sprinter and Metris cargo van and we are willing to bet you can get one for your Ford Transit van as well.
If you currently own a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or Metris, you can get an aftermarket bulkhead at any time! Schedule a service appointment with us or just stop in to place the order! We will install it for you or you can take it with you to install yourself.
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bulkhead is not necessarily easy to install. First, you need to remove the rubber bumpers behind both seats. Then, you need to cut some of the plastic off of the walls… Basically, it is a lot easier to have a service department do it because there is no template for how to do it. Each Sprinter is a little different, and sometimes we have to make modifications to make everything fit. If you have any questions about bulkheads, let us know in the comments below. Also, sorry we don’t have any actual pictures of a bulkhead. The internet is a scary place.
